Steamboat Springs, Colorado
One of the few single-family legacy estates on the slopes of the Steamboat Ski Area, this over 11,000-square-foot residence is an architectural and design masterpiece. The home sits on nearly three-quarters of an acre, representing a category of slopeside estate that can not be replicated on the mountain, from the handcrafted, artful details to one of the only indoor-outdoor pools in Steamboat. Designed by architect Bill Rangitsch, offered fully furnished, and conceived with the principles of feng shui, the home highlights a deep connection to the surrounding forest, just 50 feet from the slopes.
From the exterior, the home reads as a carefully composed mountain residence, with cedar siding, natural stone, and a low profile among the pines and aspens. Step inside, and the scale shifts completely. The great room opens to a soaring curved, wood-beamed ceilings, a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, and floor-to-wall glazing that frames the forest canopy and mountain beyond.
