New renderings have been released for the chef-driven market and dining concept planned at Steamboat Basecamp, offering a clearer view of what is set to become a central gathering point on Steamboat’s west side.
Chef Collin Kelley, owner of Primrose and Cypress, told The Steamboat Pilot that he aims to break ground on the market by the end of the summer. with completion targeted for spring 2027. Developed in partnership with MR Properties, the project continues to move forward as a thoughtfully designed, daily-use food destination. The newly released visuals highlight a modern, European-influenced market hall with a strong indoor-outdoor connection, a mezzanine level, and a patio designed for year-round use.
As we shared back in December, the market will span approximately 4,500 square feet and is designed to serve both residents of Basecamp and the broader Steamboat community. The focus remains on fresh, prepared foods crafted on site, along with takeaway options that support elevated, everyday dining at home.
“This next phase reflects a continued investment in Steamboat’s west side as a place where people can live well day to day,” said Kevin Riegler of MR Properties. “The market, along with the addition of a new bakery concept, brings a level of quality and consistency that has been missing in this part of town.”
In addition to the market, Chef Kelley is introducing a new café and bakery that will replace Big Iron Coffee within Basecamp. The cafe and bakery will complement the market’s offerings and further establish the area as a destination for daily food and gathering.
The project anchors a prominent corner at Lincoln Avenue and Elk River Road within Basecamp, a mixed-use residential community that has steadily expanded its retail and service offerings. Existing businesses include Steamboat Fit, M3 Golf Lab, and Orange Peel Bikes, with the market and bakery reinforcing the neighborhood’s evolution into a more complete, walkable hub.
For buyers, the timing aligns with a limited remaining opportunity at Basecamp Row. Five townhomes remain available, offering design-forward layouts, rooftop terraces, and private garages, all within immediate proximity to the future market and neighborhood amenities. Current pricing begins at $1.32M.
As construction approaches, the updated plans and renderings provide a clearer indication of the role this project will play as an integrated part of daily life on Steamboat’s west side.
