795 Twilight Lane: New Mountain-Modern Architecture & Design in Barn Village

Real Estate Nicole Montgomery February 7, 2026

Set within Barn Village, one of Steamboat Springs’ most established and desirable residential neighborhoods, 795 Twilight Lane is a newly built mountain-modern residence offered at $6.5 million and distinguished by its architecture, craftsmanship, and design detail. Designed by architect Michael Olsen and built by Trailhead Homes of Fort Collins, the home captures sweeping views of the Steamboat Ski Area, Emerald Mountain, and historic More Barn, with protected open space directly adjacent. Window placement, ceiling height, and interior layout are shaped by those views, drawing light and landscape into the home throughout the day and across the seasons.

“We really designed the home toward the views,” says builder Stanley Scott of Trailhead Homes. “Ski area, Emerald Mountain, the surrounding neighborhood. Everything about the layout responds to that.”

Offered at $6,500,000 and spanning 5,046 square feet, the home balances presence with proportion. From the street, its form feels intentional and composed, complementing the surrounding homes while maintaining a distinct architectural identity. The exterior blends authentic 200-year-old barnwood siding, stone, and clean modern lines, creating a façade that feels grounded and current.

“We wanted the house to stand out, but not compete,” Scott explains. “It needed to feel like it belonged here.”

The entry sequence establishes the home’s vertical presence immediately. A double-height entry draws light deep into the interior, with soaring windows above the front door framing sky and landscape. The floating wood-and-glass stair becomes a defining architectural element, connecting levels while maintaining openness.

From the outset, the home was conceived to support multi-generational living. A main-level bedroom suite allows for single-level living when needed, while additional suites on the upper and lower levels create privacy and flexibility for family, guests, or an au pair. The layout accommodates shared living without sacrificing separation, making the home as adaptable as it is beautiful.

The material palette sets a clear tone. White oak engineered flooring runs throughout the home, creating warmth and continuity. Quartzite surfaces by Weaver Stone in Fort Collins anchor key spaces with natural movement and depth, while high-end quartz is used selectively for precision and longevity. The result is a layered interior that feels cohesive and substantial.

The great room stuns with soaring ceilings and large-format windows, custom-scaled to the residential limit, framing long, multi-directional mountain views while bathing the interiors in natural light. High-performance Marvin low-E fiberglass windows were selected not only for durability, but for comfort, allowing winter sun to warm the home while moderating summer heat. A stone fireplace with a vintage mantel grounds the living area, while gallery walls provide space for an extensive art collection.

The kitchen sits at the center of the main living level, featuring a Crystallos Sloages quartzite island. GE Monogram appliances, wine refrigeration, pull-down shelving, and a butler’s pantry with sink are integrated into full-height cabinetry that responds to the home’s generous scale. The space balances visual impact with everyday functionality. Outdoor spaces extend the living experience. A large tiled deck off the main living level includes gas hookups for a grill and fireplace, framing ski-area and valley views.

Extending to the upper and lower levels, ViewRail glass-and-steel staircases introduce a sculptural counterpoint while preserving sightlines, light, and additional room for art pieces. At the upper level, the stair opens to a thoughtfully placed sitting room overlooking both the entry and the great room.

Private spaces continue the same level of finish and attention. The primary suite is oriented toward direct views of the Steamboat Ski Area, with a sliding barn door opening to a spa-like bath featuring a deep soaking tub, walk-in shower, radiant heated floors, and refined fixtures.

A custom walk-in closet completes the suite. A second upper-level bedroom suite features mountain views, soaring ceilings, a beautifully appointed bath with oversized shower and dual vanity, and a custom walk-in closet.

The lower level is designed as a destination in its own right. An expansive living and entertaining space features a custom under-lit bar with quartzite surfaces, wood detailing, and brass accents, alongside a dedicated walk-in wine room, stone fireplace, and gaming area.

Large windows and doors open to a patio plumbed for a hot tub and a backyard with low-maintenance landscaping, turf play space, and a gas fire ring. Protected open space borders the property, reinforcing privacy and long views.

A lower-level bedroom includes a custom wood-carved bunk room, walk-in closet, and full bath, while an additional room can serve as an office, bedroom, fitness studio, or media room.

Throughout the home, systems and infrastructure support year-round comfort. WarmBoard radiant floor heating is paired with whole-home humidification and high-efficiency central air. Sound-insulated walls, soft-close cabinetry, and carefully selected lighting bring a sense of quiet refinement to the interiors.

A dedicated mudroom and generous storage reflect a home designed for daily use. Snowmelt systems serve the driveway and front porch, while an oversized heated two-car garage with epoxy floors and drains accommodates mountain gear.

“Plenty of storage, WarmBoard heating, efficient layouts,” notes Scott. “These are the things you feel every day.”

Barn Village offers a community-focused lifestyle with access to a pool, hot tub, fitness center, and maintained trails, all supported by low HOA dues. Shopping, skiing, and downtown Steamboat Springs are close at hand, while the neighborhood itself retains a strong sense of community.

“Barn Village is a wonderful neighborhood,” Scott adds. “You know your neighbors. Kids meet at the pool, ride their bikes, and walk the trails. It’s one of the few places in the resort area that truly feels like a neighborhood,” Scott adds.

For Trailhead Homes, 795 Twilight Lane represents the opportunity to bring Front Range craftsmanship into a stunning mountain setting. For buyers, it offers a newly built residence where architecture, interior design, performance, and everyday comfort align with clarity and confidence.
